The first Champagne house to sign off on a bottle of Rosé, Veuve Clicquot has continued tradition by being at the forefront of everything new with the pink stuff. 2004 was an exceptionally fine year for weather conditions, and September allowed the abundant crop of grapes to ripen beautifully. Produced by maceration, The Vintage Rich 2004 is made up of 55% Pinot Noir, 10% Pinot Meunier and 35% Chardonnay. The blend includes 17 crus only, which are either Grand or Premier Crus. The 2004 vintage has a pale gold colour with silver accents. It has a brilliant aspect and effervescence is lively and long-lasting. At first, freshness immediately predominates hints of citrus fruits coming to the fore. As the wine is agitated, fruitier aromas, including winter cherry, mirabelle plums and grapefruit, follow, accompanied with a subtle hint of white flowers. Drink it alongside carpaccio beef with rocket and parmesan shavings for the ultimate gastronomic Rosé experience. Comes in the manufacturer's presentation box.
