Rustenberg is a true pioneer of Roussanne in South Africa - importing the first vines in the late 1990s and producing the first ever single varietal wine in 2004.
Any Roussanne wine should be treasured - not only is it a particularly pernickety grape to cultivate, it is a notoriously low yielder, difficult to ripen and prone to oxidation at every opportunity.
Defying all odds, this particular bottling features lilies, peach and apricot on the nose and green apples on the palate followed by riper pineapple flavours.
