The Chardonnay grape has been and continues to be the heart of Ruinart Champagne
Ruinart is the oldest Champagne House. It was founded in 1729 in Reims. It was the year after a Royal Decree, which allowed sparkling wines to be shipped in baskets of 50 to 100 bottles. Before this Decree, wines had to be shipped in barrels, which was not suitable for sparkling wines.
Slowly matured for up to three years before it is tested by the Cellar Master’s taste buds, the result is dry and delicate on the nose, showing the customary characteristics associated with a Chardonnay-heavy Champagne.
White floral and fruit notes team with the fresh taste of pastry and brioche to create one of the most distinctive tastes around.
