Chapel Down Blanc de Blancs 2009 is made from 100% Chardonnay, grown in Kent and Sussex and (in similar style to quality French Champagnes) has spent four years maturing in cellars on yeast lees, in bottle.
Showcasing a brioche nose, with hints of crisp green apple and an amazing mousse with very fine bubbles, the palate opens to display a fantastic depth of apples, pears, and greengage fruit flavours. it is clear that 2009 was an exceptional vintage, as shown by the concentration and intensity of flavour. Poise and balance between richness and freshness characterise the long finish on this wine.
A fabulous English Sparkling alternative to Blanc de Blancs Champagne, this is an impressive and well-crafted wine from a lovely vintage. Pairs well with oysters, white fish, smoked salmon and caviar, or alternatively sip as a refreshing aperitif.
