The Koch family have been making wine in the Hajós-Bajai region of Hungary for over 270 years. Koch Csaba, the current head of the family, is President of the Hajós Association of Winegrowers and a member of the Hungarian Wine Academy. The family take a natural approach to winemaking, giving the wine as little intervention as possible.
As lovers of nature, they encourage wildlife around the vineyards to thrive and their theory is that with less invention in nature’s cycles, nature takes care of itself. Now that is an M.O that we can get on board with.
Koch was awarded Winery of the Year in 2014, and this 100% Kékfrankos is an excellent representation of their winemaking prowess, with a lovely spicy aroma and an excellent structure and body.
