Founded by Emmanuel Courvoisier and Louis Gallois over 200 years ago in the outskirts of Paris, Courvoisier quickly came to the attention of Napoleon Bonaparte who ordered that his troops be allowed a ration of Cognac every morning.

Since then Courvoisier has become the established brand for Cognac. Charles Dickens left a collection of 216 bottles and there are many historical references to Courvoisier and Royalty.
