Products from Atlantico
This rum is handcrafted in the Dominican Republic, where the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean meet fields of lush sugarcane. For the whole process of rum making begins with the highest quality sugarcane, and in the tropical climate of the Dominican Republic sugarcane can grow as high as six meters and is exceptionally rich in sugar. After the sugarcane is pressed, the fresh cane juice is fermented and distilled to create a clean and floral rum.
After distilling, the rum is put into barrels and subjected to the complex solera aging process, where barrels of rum of different ages are stacked on top of each other, with the oldest at the bottom and the youngest at the top. At bottling time, the rum is blended using only a small percentage of the bottom (the oldest) barrels and bottled by hand.
The Atlántico’s rums are noted for their tropical fruit and luxurious molasses notes, complete with a good helping of oaky-spice at the heart.
