WHAT IS GORAL VODKA?

Goral Vodka might be giving away a FREE vest this summer with all purchases, but that shouldn't be the only reason you're tempted by this unique release.

Because Goral Vodka Master isn't your ordinary vodka.
And that's not just a line.

Firstly, there's its Geography. Unlike your standard Polish or Russian grain vodkas, Goral is made in Slovakia, in a small town on the outskirts of the Tatra Mountains.

Secondly, its History. Goral Vodka uses not only the finest winter wheat, but water from underground mountain springs that is enriched with minerals, and filtered through rock that dates back to the paleogene period.

Finally, the Chemistry. Master Distiller Jan Krak has dedicated his entire life to creating the perfect tasting vodka, and attempted to reflect the 640-year-old distilling tradition of the picturesque Slovak town of Stará Lubovňa in his vodka.

HOW IS IT MADE?

goral vodka masterGoral vodka uses high quality winter wheat that undergoes a 7-column distillation process followed by a 7-fold filtration through special blend of natural materials (charcoal, zeolite and diamond). Hence, the 7-7 on all the bottles.

The essential part of the Goral Vodka Master distilling process is the water. The strength, purity and freshness of the Tatra Mountain streams give Goral Vodka Master its unique smooth and creamy character.

WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE?

According to the 2011 Beverage Testing Institute, Goral Vodka is "A very pleasant easy drinking vodka" with clean aromas of toasted nuts, charcoal and pepper dust. The palate moves from a supple and dry first taste to a little sweeter, clean and silky mouthfeel which opens to notes of anise, tarragon, creme Anglaise, citrus, spice and a chalk-accented finish. Smooth, velvety an subtle - it's a timeless taste.

HOW DO YOU DRINK IT?

goral vodka martiniA great vodka neat over ice, Goral also makes a mean dirty martini - swapping out vermouth for olive juice. For a fruitier cocktail, try with cranberry juice, grenadine or pink grapefruit. It's also a mean contender for the ultimate Vodka Tonic - garnish with wedges of lime.

AND WHAT ABOUT THAT NAME?

A fun fact to finish! In Slovakia, a “goral” is a person who is built for life in the harsh conditions of the highest peaks of the Tatra Mountains – and someone who excels in physical strength and spiritual purity. Fierce loyalty and dependency on the local wilderness imparts a character that is unspoilt by the false undertones of the civilized world.

A purity of character Goral Vodka Master tries to recreate.
