Gin Mare Rooftop Parties

We aren't all so lucky to be able to escape to the Mediterranean for a summer break.

So Gin Mare thought they would bring a taste of the Med to London, and host a rooftop party in the heart of the capital.
Which is surely the next best thing.

And since a Gin Mare Rooftop party involves four types of gin cocktails, panoramic views, gin ice cream and gin soaked oysters - some might argue it's even better than that trip away...

GIN MARE MED ROOFTOPS

On July the 20th and 21st 2017, London was given a much-needed injection of Mediterranean merriment. Overlooking the river Thames, with stunning panoramic views of the city of London, the rooftop’s decor included ripening olive trees, fragrant orange bushes and aromatic herbs. Pagodas and white washed furniture provided a place to relax whilst exploring the unique tastes, textures, sounds and botanicals of Gin Mare.

In the spirit of a sun-soaked and relaxing day in Southern Europe, the scenic sights were partnered with delicious gin cocktails, seasonal canapes and Ruby Violet gin ice cream.

THE DRINKS

gin mare basil smashGuests sipped on Perfect Gin Martinis paired with a strawberry garnish, revitalising Basil Smash cocktails and classic Mare Gin & Tonics with a slice of fresh mango as garnish.

The highlight however was a cooling Frozemary cocktail, which combined the three popular trends of frappé, Aperol, and rosé wine all in the same glass. Creator Jorge Balbontin shared the unique recipe:

FROZEMARY

frozemary iced cocktailEach of the cocktails focused on the hero flavours and ingredients of the four Mediterranean countries where the gin’s botanicals are grown; including thyme from Turkey, basil from Italy, rosemary from Greece and arbequina olives from Spain.

INGREDIENTS
- 25ml Gin Mare
- 25ml Aperol
- 25ml Rosé wine
- 25ml Strawberry puree
- 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary

METHOD
Shake all the ingredients plus a large scoop of crushed ice in a blender.
Blend until the texture is “creamy”.
Serve in a small tumbler and garnish with a dehydrated lemon slice, a fresh rosemary sprig and some dehydrated strawberries.

THE FOOD
