Floral Flavours...
The gardening event of the year is here, and we thought we’d take the opportunity to share some of our favourite ways to enjoy the flowers…. in a cocktail! These floral favourites are perfect for enjoying with a picnic, pre-BBQ or even when basking in the garden.

Rosé

Up first is the Rosé Tonic - just what it says on the tin, or should that be bottle? This is a bit of a cheat on the theme, as rather than rose, it’s actually rosé. Versatile & light, this bitter sweet vermouth is a Summery blend of pink grapefruit, Sevilla orange and raspberry. Enjoy 50ml of Belsazar Rosé with a premium light tonic and a slice of pink grapefruit for gratuitous garden sipping.

The blushing beauty is Lake’s Distillery’s Pink Lady. Made using their brand new Rhubarb & Rosehip liqueur, this tangy twist on a creamy White Lady is an excellent early evening cocktail - balancing out a smoky BBQ flavour perfectly, if you can’t face anymore lukewarm beers.

Add 50ml Rhubarb & Rosehip Gin Liqueur, 20ml Lemon Juice, 10ml Grenadine, 25ml Cloudy Apple Juice & 15ml Egg White to a cocktail shaker and shake hard, twice. First without ice, and second with. Then strain into a coupette glass and enjoy.

Black Cow

Black Cow is one of our favourite sipping vodkas… indulgent & creamy. But it’s also truly excellent in a cocktail. This Moscow Cow is served in a copa glass for extra Summer vibes, and is made by adding 50ml of Black Cow vodka, 50ml cloudy apple juice and 25ml of fresh lime juice to your copa glass and topping up with ginger beer.

Daiquiri

This next drink is for those times that you fancy a daiquiri but also something a little sweeter - simply add a little elderflower liqueur! The Elderflower Daiquiri (why complicate things...) - we’ve used 50ml Plantation Rum 5 year and 25ml St Germain, with 25ml fresh lime and a bar spoon of simple syrup to make ours - a delicious golden drink to enjoy in the golden sun.

Finally, a classic cocktail that often gets overlooked, The Aviation It tastes like parma violets, a flavour which is very much en vogue thanks to Pantone’s colour of the year. We’ve used the Ryan Reynolds-owned Aviation Gin, because surprisingly, it’s sublime in an Aviation.

Take 35ml of Aviation Gin, 10ml of Maraschino liqueur, 10ml Crème de violette & 10ml of lemon juice and add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a coupette glass, and garnish with a cherry.

Cheers!
