One of the World's best loved cocktails, and one of the only one whose origin is known and universally agreed. This South East Asian cocktail was created by Ngiam Tong Boon at the Long Bar in Raffles Hotel, Singapore in the early 20th century.
It came about as in colonial Singapore, the etiwuette for women was not to consume alcohol in public, with fruit juices or teas tending to be drunk instead. Ngiam saw the oppotunity and created a cocktail that looked like a juicem and the Singapore Sling was born.
