Created by a bartender at New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel in the 1894 - it was named after a Broadway show with a similar name that premiered at the same time.
Very similar to a Manhattan except the Bourbon is replaced with Scotch, and in the same way - you can served your Rob Roy how you like it; perfect, with equal parts dry and sweet vermouth, sweet with just sweet vermouth, or dry with just dry vermouth. As standard a Rob Roy is served sweet.
Ingredients
- 60ml Scotch
- 30ml Sweet Vermouth
- 2 dashes aromatic bitters
- 3.8ml Maraschino syrup
- Cherry to garnish
How To
Stir all ingredients with ice in a mixing glass and strain into a chilled Martini glass. Garnish with a cherry.
