Champagne Season Cocktail Video

William Baker, Bar Manager, shows us how to make an extremely moreish Champagne Season cocktail, in East Bar, an intimate lounge bar at London's Sketch. This is one of those refined and beautiful cocktails that you know should be sipped elegantly, but that you'll struggle not to guzzle.

You will need:
• 25ml Hennessy Fine de Cognac
• 25ml Grand Marnier
• 10ml fresh lemon juice
• 25ml cinnamon syrup
Cocktail shaker & strainer
• Ice
• Orange sugar (whizz up sugar and orange zest)
• Champagne coupe
• Orange zest

What to do:
• Chill a Champagne glass (preferably a coupe, but a flute is fine)
• Rim half of the glass in orange sugar
• Shake the Cognac, Grand Marnier and lemon juice with ice
• Strain into the glass and top up with Champagne
• Garnish with orange zest

Hennessy Fine de Cognac

"Hi there and welcome to Sketch. I'm Will in the East Bar today and I'm going to show you how to make a Champagne Season cocktail. So start with a bit of Hennessy Fine de Cognac, continue with some Grand Marnier, which is a Brandy-based orange liqueur, little bit of lemon juice in there, and the cinnamon syrup. Shake all that with ice, and strain into an orange sugar-coated Champagne glass. Top that up with a little Champagne, and garnish with a nice long orange twist. Voila! Champagne Season."
