Van Bulck

Van Bulck

Van Bulck Belgian Organic Craft Beers was founded in 2013 by Denis Renty, ex-chef and sommelier with more than 20 years' experience in the food and drink industry.

Denis' range of beers was developed in partnership with a brewery that has been brewing beers in Flanders for seven generations, since 1830. Van Bulck beers are based on an old family recipe which has been adapted to suit current tastes.

The brewery has undergone significant investment over recent years, to improve the quality of the beer, to increase capacity to cope with demand, and to meet the strict requirements of brewing organic beers.

The Van Bulck brewer was recently presented with an industry award for his study, ‘The return of hopping during the cooking of the wort and the loss of bitter agents during further production process’.

The name Van Bulck is in reference to Denis' mother’s maiden name. She's a renowned chef, and was born and raised in a small town called Watou in Flanders - world famous for growing some of the best hops on the planet.

Denis' mum grew up playing in her uncle’s family brewery, where her passion for craft beer was ignited. She still runs the family hotel and restaurant where she only works with organic products.

In order to bring Van Bulck beers to the UK market, Denis has gathered investment through crowd funding. We think this is a brilliant way to go about things - investors will be able to contribute their knowledge of the market, as well as financial support. He runs presentations for potential investors in London, so look out for the events if you fancy getting involved.
