Big Peat is a small-batch, multi-award winning premium 100% Islay Malt Scotch Whisky bursting with character and true flavour. Big Peat contains Ardberg, Bowmore and Port Ellen (the now closed distillery) among others. Big Peat contains no colouring and is non chill-filtered. </p>
<p style="text-align:justify">On the nose Big Peat is fresh, salty and clean opening up to a sweet malted barley, a bit damp and earthy.
Tastes you’ll get are a bit of ash, sweet tar, seaside beach and smoking chimneys of course. The finish… long and lingering; (more) salty, tangy liquorice, (more) smoke and bonfire ashes.

<p style="text-align:justify">Finally, for the real experts, it’s all down to the PPM (parts per million) phenol in the distilled spirit. In short, the higher the PPM levels, the peatier the whisky will be to taste. Our meaty Big Peat is 40 PPM. To put it in malty perspective, Bowmore is 25 PPM while Laphroaig is 43 PPM. So the name Big Peat is pretty spot on.

50 ml Big Peat Islay Malt Whisky<br>
25 ml lemon juice<br>
25 ml sugar syrup<br>
3 dashes Angostura Bitters<br>
1 wedge lemon<br>
<p style="text-align:justify">Fill your shaker ¾ full with cubed ice, pour in your Big Peat Islay Malt Whisky, bitters, lemon juice and sugar syrup shaking if for 10 seconds until cold.
