Sex on the Beach
This illustrious cocktail dates back to the late 1980s in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where Ted Pizio, a young bartender, created a drink which was all about the fun and frolics American university students had when they came to Florida for spring break.
I've heard it said about Sex on the Beach that "The crazier the name, the more people want to drink it. If they like the way it sounds and they hear it enough, they'll order it."
How to serve it
- In a mixing glass, add all the ingredients.
- Add plenty of ice and shake.
- Strain into a Collins glass full of ice.
- Garnish with an orange slice and cherry (sail).
