Kir was originally known as Blanc-Cassis and renamed in the 1950’s after Felix Kir, the Mayor of Dijon in France, where it is traditionally drunk as an aperitif.
The Cassis nicely balances the clean and crisp white wine and in France some Barmen will offer to make Kir with peach liqueur as an alternative.
A simple and fruity twist to a glass of white wine.
How to serve it
- In a Goblet glass add the cassis.
- Top up with wine.
