Irish Whiskey Sour
My twist on the traditional Whiskey Sour in honour of St. Patrick's day. I've swapped the usual Boubon Whiskey for an Irish Whiskey which imparts a smoother flavour.
The citrus in the Whiskey Sour gives it a tart flavour which is balanced by the sweetness of the sugar. Adding egg white emulsifies the Sour creating a velvety smooth texture.
A great way to kick off the St Patricks' Day celebrations.
How to serve it
- In a mixing glass, add all the ingredients.
- Add plenty of ice and shake well.
- Strain into an Old-fashioned glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with a lemon slice and cherry (sail).
