The Bronx is a pre-Prohibition cocktail and one of 5 cocktails named after the 5 Boroughs of New York City. Like so many cocktails, its true origins are unknown with several variations of the story. The 2 most circulated stories credit the creation to Joseph Sormani, a Bronx restaurateur and Johnnie Solon, a bartender at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Manhattan.
Essentially a Martini with added orange juice, The Bronx was ranked number 3 in 'The World's 10 Most Famous Cocktails in 1934'. I reckon it's time to revive this drink to its former glory.
How to serve it
