Emoji Cocktails

Ever since the 2014 debut of emojis, online communication has been a brighter, more joyful experience. Why type out the words "Let's get a drink" when you can simply send the red wine glass emoji?

There is even a whole day now dedicated to celebrating the technological wonder, with July 17 (the date permanently displayed on the calendar emoji) marking 'World Emoji Day'. To properly honour the occasion, it's only right to mix up one of three real-life cocktails inspired by the cute characters.

Instyle USA called on the help of NYC-based bartender and mixologist Matthew Houlihan to use Cachaça to create three concoctions that are pretty much identical to their emoji counterparts. We adapted his recipes slightly for the UK market and to introduce other spirits (because you can really only do so much with Cachaça...)

Check out the recipes below [insert clinking beer mugs emoji here]!
