On Thursday the 3rd May 31DOVER and BarChick joined forces to grace the presence of Manchester’s biggest ever cocktail event, Cocktails in the City. Taking place in the Town Hall, all the top bars in Manchester such as Mojo, Cloud 23 and Liars Club came to display a vast array of inventive cocktails for all to try. Each pop up bar partnered with a well-known brand including the likes of Chase, Belvedere, Havana Club, Absolute, Chairman’s Reserve and Ketel One; all of which are stocked here at 31DOVER.
Visitors not only enjoyed trying and testing exceptional beverages, but watched fantastic demonstrations from experts on tips and tricks on making cocktails. It was a fantastic opportunity to be educated in various spirits. Presentations varied from the American culture of Whisky with Ambassador Tom Vernom, to the bizarre but surprisingly tasty craze of Beer cocktails. For those that needed to line their stomach; Burgers, Chilli Dogs and French Fries were supplied by the legendary Almost Famous. The town hall was also filled by the disco sounds of underground DJ’s Crazy P and El Diablo.
BarChick and 31DOVER partnered together as two internet based companies. For those who don’t know, BarChick offer an essential guide to the best bars in London and around the world. If you’re looking for a night out but not sure where to go - check out their website.
Our signature 31DOVER cocktail proved popular among the crowds and as always, us generous lot at 31DOVER were doing some fantastic giveaways. Simple and easy with a pack of cards in hand, anyone who picked an ace won a bottle (and yes – before you ask they were full packs of cards!). Prizes included Crystal Head Vodka, Johnnie Walker Red Label Whisky, Tanqueray Gin and our SFTW prize this week Gran Centenario Plata Tequila - a pack of sweets or peanuts also went to anyone with a joker.
All in all a fantastic buzzing evening. If you missed out do not fear, there are more Cocktails in the City to come in Leeds, Bristol, London and Edinburgh.
