Punch of the week –  Cocada Venezolana with Ron Pampero Anejo Especial Rum

In true Venezuelan style, The Barman has taken a traditional Venezuelan drink and added a Rum twist to it.

Due to their vast array of tropical fruits, fruit smoothies and frozen drinks are very popular in South America. The condensed milk used in the recipe is a popular ingredient adding creamy sweetness to the drink.

For this recipe you will need a blender and if you are feeling particularly courageous you can use fresh coconuts with milk and sugar to create your own coconut milk.

INGREDIENTS

8 measures Ron Pampero Anejo Especial.

397g of frozen shredded coconut

1 cup milk

¼ cup of coconut cream

397g can of condensed milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

Pinch of salt and cinnamon

HOW TO SERVE

Fill a punch bowl with ice.

Blend together all ingredients and pour into punch bowl.

Sprinkle cinnamon on top for garnish.

Serve and enjoy.

For the frozen version, simply blend with crushed ice. The result is a refreshingly creamy and smooth drink. The Ron Pampero Anejo Especial Rum works well in this drink balancing its notes of spice, toffee and vanilla.
