Spotlight on: Hoxton Gin-Gin Mule
We are sure that all of you ginger lovers out there are on red-alert for National Redhead Day tomorrow.
Here at 31Dover, we also love a bit of ginger (especially the first three letters!). In fact, we love it so much that we want to share a very fiery recipe with you all, the Hoxton Gin-Gin Mule.
Now don’t get too excited, this isn’t just a double serving of Gin.
Though, that is a good place to start.
Instead, a Hoxton Gin-Gin Mule is a very simple but delicious cocktail made with Hoxton Gin, Fever-tree ginger beer, a squeeze of lime and a sprig of mint (Lime and mint are optional, Hoxton and Fever-tree are definitely not!).
But why are we stressing Hoxton? Well, because it’s a damn good gin that’s why! As one of London’s leading bartenders and bar owners, Garry Calabrese (Hoxton’s creator) knows what makes a good gin. Garry created his Hoxton Gin with the idea to make a gin that tastes as good by itself as it does in a cocktail.
Although this is very true, the gin also comes into its own in this very simple cocktail.
The flavours of coconut, grapefruit, juniper and ginger ensure a complex but balanced palate when sipped neat and blend seamlessly with the sturdier flavour of ginger beer, creating a cocktail that is very easy to drink and is oh-so satisfying.
This is definitely more than just another take on a Moscow Mule.
We recommend enjoying this cocktail with friends. It’s easy on the eyes, easy to make and very easy to finish!
